A Staple of Convenience

Formed with weight-saving magnesium, the sweeping rear liftgate of MKT opens and closes easily. Just press a button on the key fob, or inside the cabin, and the power liftgate opens or closes.

The power liftgate opens to reveal a generous 507 litres (17.9 cu. ft.) of cargo space that can expand to 1121 litres (39.6 cu. ft.) by folding the third-row seat down. For maximum cargo, fold the second- and third-row seats down and 2149 litres (75.9 cu. ft.) of space is available.

Valet Parking at the Touch of a Button

Once the available Active Park Assist is engaged via a switch on the centre console, invisible radar waves precisely measure open spaces to find a suitable parallel parking spot. With a few actions (gear shifting, acceleration, and braking), MKT steers itself into the open space. The driver retains full control of throttle, brakes and shifting the entire time the system is engaged.

The Luxury of Peace of Mind

Available Blind Spot Information System (BLIS^®) with cross-traffic alert can detect vehicles in blind spots while driving as well as traffic approaching from the sides when the driver is reversing out of parking spots.

BLIS^® sends out radar to continuously monitor each side of the vehicle to detect when another vehicle enters the defined blind spot zone (within 14 metres). A light appears on the corresponding sideview mirror to indicate another vehicle is in the defined blind spot.

You Can See Clearly Now

The bright, white light from the High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps supplies excellent down-the-road illumination. To help make even more of the roadway visible, Adaptive HID Headlamps swivel in the direction of the turn helping you see better at night and have more time to react. And the Auto High Beam feature turns the high beams on and off automatically depending on whether there's traffic or a vehicle ahead, helping you stay focused on the road.
